The intensification of the fight against corruption and organized crime remains the main priority of the European Union for Albania after the opening of membership negotiations in March 2020 and the First Intergovernmental Conference.
According to the revised enlargement methodology, the effective fight against corruption and organized crime will remain one of the main indicators for progress in the European Union accession process, therefore success in the consolidated data system will have to be measurable.
In this context, special institutions (SPAK and Courts) have an important role in this process, which need to build a consolidated approach in terms of performance analysis and their reporting regarding the fulfilment of strategic objectives such as and recommendations within the European integration process of Albania.
The Round Table Discussion held by CSDG – Center for the Study of Democracy and Governance focused on:
Discussion on the findings in the direction of the fight against corruption and organized crime, generating necessary recommendations.
Discussion on the approach and mechanisms for evaluating the performance of institutions against corruption and organized crime.
Encouraging cooperation, interaction and involvement of institutions in order to improve performance evaluation and management.
Engaging local and international actors as well as other stakeholders to identify and address issues and issues of importance
